Start Where You Are. Local Integration Points in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships

02/10/2025

In response to the growing integration needs, the project “Start Where You Are. Local Integration Points in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships” was launched, implemented by Fundacja Emic in partnership with Fundacja To i Co.

The main goal of the project is to support more than three thousand third-country nationals (TCNs) in the process of adaptation, social inclusion and effective integration in Poland between 1st of October, 2025, and 31st of March, 2028.

Specific objectives of the project:

  • Enhancing TCNs’ adaptation capacities by increasing their awareness and skills in exercising their rights, understanding and following Polish laws, norms and regulations, and improving their command of the Polish language.
  • Strengthening social inclusion of TCNs by improving their competencies and employment opportunities, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting access to integration services offered by local institutions.
  • Supporting integration in schools and local communities to facilitate inclusion into society, unlocking potential and active engagement.

The target group of the project consists of TCNs legally residing in Poland who meet the eligibility criteria defined for the FAMI target group under the specific objective of legal migration and integration.

The project’s activities are primarily aimed at TCNs living in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships but thanks to remote services (such as helplines and online training), support will also be available to TCNs throughout Poland. The proposed activities ensure equal opportunities and non-discrimination, and consider the specific needs of vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities, the elderly, or single mothers.

The main goal of the project will be achieved through actions in six key areas:

  • Polish language courses (A1–B2), including specialized courses improving professional language skills;
  • Civic courses and information/advisory points, offering consultations on administrative procedures, legal advice, and related matters;
  • The comprehensive “Friendly Education” program, supporting TCN children in intercultural school and preschool communities;
  • Activities supporting TCNs in the labor market and in establishing and running their own businesses;
  • Initiatives facilitating social integration and supporting self-organization and community-based initiatives;
  • Training and support for public institution employees working with TCNs, as well as participation in the implementation of local migration and integration strategies.

The project’s assumptions align with the recommendations outlined in the document “Regain Control. Ensure Security. A Comprehensive and Responsible Migration Strategy for Poland 2025–2030,” which emphasizes a responsible approach to integration - both for migrants and refugees, and for the host communities.

A key outcome of the project will be to ensure access to a wide range of integration services and mainstream services offered by public institutions, aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for TCNs, primarily in the Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian regions.

Project value: 5,184,158.83 PLN , EU funding contribution:  4,665,742.94 PLN

The project is co-financed by the European Union under the Polish Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Programme 2021–2027, and will be implemented from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028.
